    Dinner - Le Marché Francis with chef Veronique

    “AUTHENTIC FRENCH FOOD” located in the fabulous Woolstore building on Thorndon Quay, Le Marché Francais was founded in 2008 with the aim of bringing its customers a genuine French culinary experience.

    As a reminder for people attending:

    • This July is the 10th Anniversary of the opening of Le Marche Francais in Thorndon, so this is a triple celebration!
    • Le Marche Francais is situated on the first floor of the Woolstore Building on
      Thorndon Quay. Nearby is the motorway overpass and just south of that is bus stop 5492 which is used by bus routes 1, 19e, 24, 25, 26, 52, 56, 57, 58, 60e and 83.
    • Feel free to take part in creating an extra atmosphere for the evening by wearing red, white and blue or any French attire; as well as bringing along a bottle of French wine to enjoy with your dinner.

    Menu

    A trio of mini entrees all French in origin including Quiche Lorraine, French Onion soup and a mini goat cheese salad

    The mains are French in origin and accompanied by plenty of bread to mop up any leftover sauce etc. 

    • Beef Bourguignon – beef braised in red wine taking 2 days to prepare.
    • Whaherou Creole – French fish curry from New Caledonia
    • Chicken Champenoise – Chicken poached in wine from the Loire.

    For dessert, everyone to receive a trio of petit fours including a macaroon, a small lemon meringue tart and a mini crème brulée.

Member prize draw

Members’ prize draw is at each meeting, but you must be present to win. We also have a raffle draw to be won. Purchase your tickets at the door and be in to win.

Drinking and driving

Members will be aware of lowering drink/drive limits from December 2014. If unsure, read the Land Transport Amendment Act (no 2) 2014. We ask members to be conscious of these limits. For those driving, water and some food are provided or think about a designated driver, taxi, Uber, or dial-a-driver to get you home safely.

Wine bottle screw caps

Anne is collecting them to give to the Lions organised Kan Tabs for Kids. No food lids or beer tops, please. Save and bring them to the next monthly meeting.
