January – No BBQ to start the year

No BBQ to start the year

Please note that there is no Club BBQ on the last Sunday of January, as has been our usual celebration for January.

As advised by your committee previously, we are working on a new way to start the Club’s year for future years.

If you have any ideas, please let us know too!

    What’s all the fuss

    • We’re a family endeavour named after our four grandchildren: BROnte, MaCKENzie, CHArli and JaCK
    • We’re a cool climate, single vineyard wine producer in the Barossa’s picturesque Eden Valley, crafting fourteen beautiful wines for our portfolio
    • We produce wines that we think people will love to drink
    • Our wines all have a story, either named after our family members or after something of significance to our family
    • Our land has been a working vineyard for well over a century, with our first Riesling vines planted in 1896, believed to be some of (if not) the oldest Riesling vines in Australia

This is a B.Y.O. event, so please bring along your favourite wine, or two, from your cellar to share with friends.

Below is a reminder of the menu for the evening. Note that you have previously selected your courses for the meal and sent this to Wayne. He will confirm your seating and food choices in the coming week.

    To start

    Prawn fritters
Woodys smoked chicken breast with cranberry sauce and toast
    Pumpkin & haloumi fritters

    Main courses

    Honey-roasted ham off the bone
with roasted baby potatoes, carrots and a mustard sauce
    Prosciutto wrap chicken breast
with roasted baby potatoes, spinach & a sage butter sauce
    Pan-fried fish
with fried new potatoes & salsa verde

    Dessert

Deep South vanilla ice cream with Hershey’s chocolate sauce
Sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce
    White chocolate cheesecake

As an interesting change to what normally happens at our dinners, your committee has decided to complement your dessert with a sticky wine from our Club Cellar.

If you would like to catch public transport for the evening, please note that train and bus services are available that arrive and depart not too far from our venue.

See all past club events from February 1985.

Let’s Look Out for Each Other (still)

As always, please if you are feeling unwell, do not attend the evening’s presentation. Thanks, Your committee.

Member prize draw

Members’ prize draw is at each meeting, but you must be present to win. We also have a raffle draw to be won. Purchase your tickets at the door and be in to win.

Drinking and driving

Members will be aware of lowering drink/drive limits from December 2014. If unsure, read the Land Transport Amendment Act (no 2) 2014. We ask members to be conscious of these limits. For those driving, water and some food are provided or think about a designated driver, taxi, Uber, or dial-a-driver to get you home safely.

Wine bottle screw caps

Anne is collecting them to give to the Lions organised Kan Tabs for Kids. No food lids or beer tops, please. Save and bring them to the next monthly meeting.
